With the upcoming CD Songs My Dad Loved, Country and Bluegrass music superstar Ricky Skaggs takes the concept of the solo project to an entirely new level. From Skaggs Family Records, this one-of-a-kind CD is filled with 13 tracks, each of which features Ricky all by his lonesome, singin’ and pickin’ a guitar, a fiddle, a mandolin, a mandocello and a banjo (including some fine clawhammer work).
As one of the most successful entertainers in music history, Ricky has performed alongside and been backed up by some of the most accomplished musicians on the planet. But on Songs My Dad Loved he lays it all on the line by going it alone with nothing but his own talents and charisma to keep his legion of fans captivated and well entertained. My guess is he’ll do it exceptionally well.
