If the President doesn’t get it by now (he likely never will), Democrat lawmakers certainly should: Most of us simply do not share their Socialist vision of Government-run health care. At town hall meetings all across the country, Congressmen and Senators are facing increasingly hostile crowds, often numbering in the thousands, as they try to promote President Obama’s overhaul (AKA Government takeover) of the American health care system. By and large, the American people simply do not want it, plain and simple.
Of course the Democrats are saying that a small group of “right wingers” are behind the protests, but in reality many in the crowds are registered Democrats who actually voted for Obama. The fact is, all but the most liberal among us realize what a disaster Government-run health care would be. After all, it’s no big secret that in other country’s where similar systems have been adopted, the results have been poor at best.
Contrary to what Nancy Pelosi and her ilk would have you believe, most Americans who want health insurance already have it, and the ones that don’t still receive a higher level of health care than they would likely receive should the President’s plan be enacted. Does the health care system need reform? In a few selected areas where improvements can be made, yes. But an entire overhaul is neither needed nor wanted by the average folks, and Congress and the President ignore the voters on this issue at their political peril.
